5 Years of Tyaan

Tyaan moved in to our home on February 26th of 2004. I thought in celebration of hitting our 5 year mark it would be fun to look at how much she's changed since then.

This is Tyaan on 2/17/09 at Disneyland. She is 17 years old and in her last semester of high school. She's sweet, determined, talented, and responsible. I couldn't be more proud of the wonderful person she is.


Here is a quick look back at the 5 years between her moving in with us and today.

2004

This is Tyaan just a couple months after she moved in. This was taken at school, she was 12 years old and in 7th grade.

This is at the Kona, Hawaii temple in May of 04.


September of 04 when we had some family pictures taken. This was just after she started 8th grade. Her birthday is in July so she was 13 at this time. You can start to see how tall she was getting.

2005


This is her with a family friend on a camping trip in February of 05. She is still 13 years old and in 8th grade.
November of 05. She is 14 now and is into her freshman year of High School.



Christmas Eve of 05. This is at Downtown Disney (outside of Disneyland) and she just got this Build -a -Bear.


2006


On a boating trip to Lake Mojave in June of 06. She just finished her freshman year.


July of 06 doing a rock climb wall. She turned 15 about a week after this picture was taken.


September of 06. This was a few weeks after the adoption was finalized. She is finally legally a Haslam! She is 15 and has just started her sophomore year.

In September of 06 she was a 'model' in a fashion show at a store near our home. This is about when I think she went from my little girl to my young woman.



2007

Tyaan and I at Disneyland in January of 07.


Tyaan was in choir this year. This is her dressed up for a choir concert with her dad in March of 07.


At the beach in May of 07. She had just finished her first year of swimming for her school.


On her first day of her junior year in August of 07. She is now 16.


Later in August when she got her driving permit.


2008

February of 08 after her last waterpolo game of that season.


In April all dressed up for Mormon Prom.


June of 08 the day she got her drivers license.


August of 08 while packing up to head home from Yuba Lake in UT. She is 17 and about to start her senior year.


First day of her senior year. August 08.

2009

January, mid-senior year. Beautiful - inside and out.
