Jeff's 18!!!

Jeff actually turned 18 years old last weekend, believe it or not. I hardly can, it makes me feel pretty old (which Jeff & Ty constantly remind me I am.)

We had cake and ice cream at my house for him. Here are some pictures of the family.

Tyaan's Water Polo Camp

Tyaan was invited to attend a 2 day water polo camp a couple weekends ago. She was instructed by some amazing water polo players whose careers include the mens/womens National team, as well as a couple Olympic appearances. Most now coach for college including UCLA and UC Irvine. It was a great learning experience for her. There were 5 'coaches' to only 20 something girls so they got a lot of personal attention and instruction. There were even a couple girls that had driven down from Utah for this camp. I was feeling sorry for myself for having to drive 45 minutes each way for 2 days straight!

A day at the beach

While Tyaan was at her water polo camp this weekend we took the opportunity to spend the day at the beach. The camp was held at a college campus in Huntington Beach, so Andrew, Joseph and I went back to my favorite beach to pass the time. We spent several hours there, most of which the boys were in the water with the boogie board. It got pretty crowded in the afternoon since it was over 100 at home. It ended up being a perfect day for relaxing in the sun.

Swim Final Videos

So I'm finally getting around to putting up swim final videos. I put together some DVD's of a few other swimmers and never got back to getting all of Ty's videos formatted to put up. You can see how well she did in everything. It was a close run for 1st through 3rd on all of her events. Well, except for the 4x100, but see for yourself.

Wii had fun!

My father in law, after months of searching, was finally able to get a Nintendo Wii. We went over for Mothers Day yesterday and got a chance to try it out. I must say I am quite impressed at how well it works and it was a lot of fun. Here is some video of us looking silly while trying to figure it all out.




First is Jon and our brother in law, Scott, playing baseball. Next is Tyaan and I boxing, and finally Jon and his dad bowling.

Swim Finals

So I'm finally getting back to reporting about swim finals. Tyaan did fabulous, as I knew she would. 4 top 3 finishes! Their team got 2nd place in league, but didn't miss 1st by many points. So, here are the results!

4x50Medley Relay - 2nd place
200 freestyle - 2nd place, tying her best time
100 butterfly - 3rd place, dropping another 2 seconds off of her best time
4x100 freestyle relay - 1st place, getting her best time on her split

What an amazing kid, and a great swimmer.

A skit

We had a ward activity last weekend that was a talent/sharing night. We were asked to bring something to display a hobby or talent, or perform a talent. I played a piece on the piano (and didn't destroy it too badly), Tyaan put together a board with pictures of her swimming and playing water polo, and Jon put on a skit. He got Brandon and Russell Withers to do it with him. It's pretty cute, and I think Russell did a great job playing it up.
