Trip to the Beach

Andrew, Joseph and I took a quick trip to the beach on Saturday. It was supposed to be nearly 100 degrees at home which is always a great excuse for a visit to the beach. It was just about perfect for it, warm and not too many people there. We stayed for a few hours before having to head home for other plans.

Last swim meet

Tyaan had her last swim meet of the year today. Next week is league finals! Here are a couple photos of her swimming her 200 freestyle. (Which she won, as usual!)

My Best Friends Birthday

Friday was my best friends birthday and we were able to go to dinner with her and some of her other friends. We went to her favorite restaurant (which I introduced her to!) Honolulu Harry's.

Emily and I have been friends for 18 years and still talk (via email usually) almost every day.

She's amazing, and I'm so grateful for her and the fact that's she's one of the few that's managed to put up with me for that many years. Actually, she's probably the ONLY one that's not blood related.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY! Here's hoping you can put up with me for many more years to come. :-)

Mormon Prom Slideshow

Mormon Prom

Tyaan had Mormon Prom this weekend. She got all dressed up and was beautiful, as usual!

This is her with her date, Dale.

There are several local stakes that do this together. Each stake has a dinner for their youth, and then they all go to a dance together. This was started to allow these teenagers to have the experience of prom without the cost, and questionable standards, that unfortunately have become part of the 'norm' for high school proms these days.

It was a Willy Wonka theme and it sounds like they went all out for it. The invitations looked like candy bars in a wrapper that slipped off to show all of the information. The building was done up quite extravagantly. They had lots of stuff set up to look like the Wonka factory, and even a big chocolate fountain for dipping.

Tyaan had a really good time. Her and her date doubled with another couple they are friends with. Here are a few more pictures of my gorgeous girl!

Jeff's turn!

I can't leave Jeffrey out of this old video craze. Here is a clip of Jeffrey when he was 4 1/2.

The first part is Jeff singing a Christmas song he learned for his preschool performance that year. This is taken just after Christmas of 94.

The second part is Jeffrey the following Easter (April 95) during the egg hunt in our home. Brandon leaves his basket unattended... yes the giggling you hear is me at 16, being very entertained by the whole thing. :-)

Old 1st Ward youth

Okay Em & Tonna, this ones for you! I got a kick out of this when I got to it (I'm still putting old home movies on my computer) and thought you might enjoy it also.

This is from a stake Pioneer Day activity on July 22nd, 1995. I actually have the whole play we did that day, but this is a couple minutes where you glimpse some of the kids we grew up with. I'm sorry to say I don't even remember who a couple of them are, but most I do.

Anyway it brought back lots of fun memories!
