Dad's Surprise Party

So, we threw a surprise party for my dad's 50th birthday. It went really well and everyone seemed to have a good time. It looked like we got him pretty good. A lot of people helped by secretly inviting guests and keeping him out for the day.

New Montclair Police Department

There is a brand new Montclair Police Department just being finished and it's about to be moved in to. There was an open house yesterday and we went over to tour the new facility. Mom and dad had both seen it since they will both be working there, but the rest of us were curious. It is a beautiful building and it was a lot of fun to get a tour of it. We got a 'private tour' with some other family of employees and dad did some of it. There was a big turnout and a long line for the public to get a tour through, so it was a benefit to be family.

Dad worked the whole thing so he was there, in uniform, to greet us when we got there. He took a break from his other responsibilities to go with us on the tour and show us around a little bit. I, of course, had my camera out and got some pictures!

The back entrance to the building, accessible from the secure employee parking lot. The windows upstairs on the left is where dispatch (or communications) is located and it has a door out to the patio you can see. That's where mom will be working.

Angels Game

We got some Angels tickets last week and went to the game on Friday night. We had a good time, although they lost. (They ALWAYS lose when I go! I've decided I should do all the other Angels fans a favor and stay away) They had a pretty good fireworks show after the game which was fun.

Jon wasn't able to make it so I let Tyaan invite 2 of her friends. Here is a picture of the 3 of them at the game. Molina, Liz, & Tyaan.

Andrew's Birthday

Andrew turned 13 years old on June 6th. I can't believe my youngest brother is a teenager. Here are some pictures of the family when we celebrated. My dad took him and Joseph out to dinner on Friday, which was his birthday, since my mom was working. On Saturday we had dinner and stayed up way past my bedtime playing cards. It was a lot of fun.

Tyaan's License

Tyaan got her drivers license on Friday. I'm sitting here enjoying the fact that her choir practice is ending about now and I didn't have to drive down there to pick her up. I didn't think to take a picture of her at the DMV, we were just relieved that it was done and had gone well. Here is a picture of her and her dad later that night when we went out to dinner to celebrate.

Swim Captain!

Tyaan's swim banquet was yesterday. This is where all the swimmers get their certificates and awards are given out. Tyaan got her 2nd varsity certificate, and she got team captain for the varsity team. It's usually given to seniors so it was a big deal for her to get it as a junior. She was really excited and we are very proud of her.

I also got to talk to her coach for a few minutes and he had lots of great things to say about Ty. He said he is really grateful to have her on the team and mentioned how hard working she is and that she always puts in so much effort. And he's looking forward to next year because we are all counting on going to CIF next year, Tyaan included.

Jeff's 18!!!

Jeff actually turned 18 years old last weekend, believe it or not. I hardly can, it makes me feel pretty old (which Jeff & Ty constantly remind me I am.)
