Mom & Dad's 30th Anniversary

My mom and dad's 30th anniversary was last Tuesday, the 26th of August. My dad sent my mom a bouquet of 30 roses. These pictures don't show quite how big it was, but it was beautiful!

She's a Senior

Tyaan started her senior year of high school this week.

Yes, that's right. She's a senior already. I can't believe it. This is a picture of her as she was leaving on the first day.

She has a pretty heavy load of classes. She's taking 2 AP classes (english and government), her 2nd year of sign language, chemistry, and algebra 2. She's also still in 6th period swim.

Cross country practices every day after school. It's been high 90's here all week, Monday actually went just over 100 I think, and she's out there running. And she'll still be swimming every day as well, except on days she has a cc meet.

She's also been asked to serve on SYC again this year. (Stake youth council) And, seminary starts next week. (this is early morning seminary - for all of you Utah residents)

So, she's going to be a busy girl this school year. On top of that it's time to start the college decision and application process. I'm hoping to keep her home and going to a local JC for the next couple years, but I want her to have several options. Especially with how athletic she is. It would be nice for her to be able to attend a school where she could continue to be involved in one of the sports she enjoys. And she seems to be interested in going to one of the Church schools, so we'll see where the year takes us.

Dirt biking

Last weekend we went out to the desert to ride dirt bikes with our friends. It was just a day trip so we left early in the morning and got home in the evening.

It was a hot day, 106 when we checked, but everyone had a good time.

Tyaan and Jeff both got a lot of riding time and were pretty comfortable before we went home. They both had sore hands (from working the clutch) and sore butts before we headed home. Each had a chance to end up in the dirt too, but neither were hurt.

Russell and Tyaan after I pointed out they reminded me of the rock em, sock em game. They then decided to act it out. Katie is in the background in case it turned dirty.

Home from CC camp

Tyaan made it home from camp last Friday. She's all geared up for running and came home with lots of training and information. It sounds like it was a good experience.

This week she's a runner

Tyaan left for cross country camp yesterday. She's up at Silverwood with her coaches from school and other kids on the team.



I miss her already.

Hopefully she's having a good time, although I don't see how running miles and miles every day in high altitude could be fun. It sounds like they get a lot of opportunity to play at the lake in between running and doing workouts. And it will help her get in shape for season which starts pretty soon.

Home from Yuba!

We just got home this morning from our trip to Yuba Lake in Utah. We had a great time! We got to see lots of family, play games, play in the lake, take boat rides, ski, kneeboard, tube, go for motorcycle rides and lots of other fun stuff.

I have lots of pictures to post, and more waiting to be picked up. But we're home safely and had a wonderful time.
